About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Montreal, Piklìz is a vibrant Haitian and Caribbean restaurant that offers an authentic culinary journey straight from the islands to your plate. Located at 4210b Rue Saint-Jacques Ouest, this intimate yet lively eatery captures the essence of Haitian flavors with a contemporary twist, creating a dining experience that is as memorable as it is flavorful.

Step inside, and you're welcomed by a warm, inviting atmosphere that feels like a cherished neighborhood gem. The space buzzes gently with good energy, making it perfect for both casual meals and special gatherings. Customers often praise the genuine hospitality here, with attentive staff who make every visit feel personal and special.

The menu at Piklìz is a celebration of rich, bold Caribbean tastes crafted with care and passion. Signature dishes like Kabrit Chèvre (tender pulled goat with goat cheese), the beloved Griot (crisply fried pork shoulder with mouthwatering seasoning), and the ever-popular Le Pikliz Wrap stand out for their perfectly balanced flavors. The house specialty, La Poutine Piklìz Kabrit, marries the creamy, melty goodness of poutine with spicy pulled goat, fresh pikliz (a traditional Haitian spicy pickled vegetable condiment), and a vibrant créole sauce, creating an irresistible comfort dish.

Equally enticing are the sides that complement the main offerings, such as Bannan Pezé, which are golden, fried plantain slices served alongside a subtly tangy aïoli, and the creamy, comforting Makawoni macaroni salad. The Salade Lakay adds a refreshing crunch with kale, radish, chayote, and a homemade créole herb vinaigrette, perfectly balancing the plate.

For those with a sweet tooth, Piklìz delights with traditional desserts like Gâteau Renversé À L'ananas (pineapple upside-down cake) that deliver just the right touch of tropical sweetness to end your meal on a high note.

What truly makes Piklìz shine is not only the impeccable flavors but the infectious warmth that radiates from the team. As one enthusiastic diner, Andres P., shared, "The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were so warm and welcoming. Every dish had so much flavor and was really perfect for sharing." This sense of genuine care and passion infuses every plate and interaction, turning first-time visitors into loyal regulars.

Whether you're craving spicy mango wings paired with freshly fried potatoes, a hearty combo featuring succulent kabrit and rice, or refreshing hibiscus lemonade that bursts with fruity brightness, Piklìz offers a well-rounded, soulful menu that honors Haitian culinary traditions while inviting you into a vibrant social experience.

In every bite, you’ll discover layers of carefully crafted seasoning and textures that speak to the rich history and culture behind each dish. Piklìz is more than just a meal—it’s a heartfelt invitation to explore Caribbean food elevated by love, authenticity, and community spirit right in Montreal's dynamic food scene.

Wow, what a treat! The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were so warm and welcoming. You can tell they really care about what they do. Every dish had so much flavor and was really perfect for sharing. Can’t wait to come back and try more from the menu!

Pikliz feels like a neighbourhood restaurant with good food and great service. On our first visit, the restaurant was full due to a big party (it's a small but comfy space). We asked Anna for a nearby recommendation and she came through with Satay Brothers, which was delicious! We came back a few nights later, this time with a reservation, and enjoyed a really good meal. We tried a little bit of everything. The standouts for me were the hot sauce (which you can buy), pikliz, djondjon rice (wow!), banana donuts, macawoni, the mango cocktail, and griot. Anna was a wonderful host and took great care of us! Really loved the music too.

Tasty food, fun visual identity, good vibes. I went in when the restaurant was empty. My food was ready in under five minutes, chicken was nicely seasoned, tender. The rice was perfectly cooked and the sauce was rich without being fatty or overly salty.

Haitian know good food — and this spot really hit the mark. It’s a small but lively place full of good energy. The griot was tender, the acras perfectly crispy and flavorful, and the bowls were generous and filling. The cocktail list was fun, with drinks named after Port-au-Prince neighborhoods and cities. Chef Mike is great, but Anna truly made the whole experience special. If I had one small note, it would be the beignets — they leaned more toward a donut texture than a traditional marinade. Other than that, everything was on point. We went as a group and everyone loved their dish. I’ll definitely be back!

Went there for lunch on a Friday and it was quite quiet and comfortable. The restaurant was small and intimate and we ordered a Malta Creole, a ceviche, the chicken wings, some taco-like dish and a special Haitian version of Mac & cheese. Everything tasted delicious and we were pleasantly surprised.

Love this little hole in the wall type of place. It’s small, so I would maybe call to make a reservation if you’re a big group. Food was quite tasty, flavourful and had the right amount of kick to it. Lots to choose from the menu, and all seemed good. They had a nice variety of drinks, but the Ti-Punch was delicious. Very sweet if you’re into sweet drinks but def strong and made with love. There was nice music playing, it was loud for a small little place but it was good vibes honestly. And the service was quick and excellent. I definitely recommend this place and would go back any time.

Small, cozy restaurant. I had the shrimpwrap and it was really good. Perfect portion as a snack but also a quick meal. And it had a really nice, natural, and smooth flavor. The place is small but cozy... will be back to try other menu items!
